(ANTARA) - JAKARTA, To introduce Kulon Progo to the international community, young people native district located in a privileged area of Yogyakarta province have formed a community of Teaching Foreign Residents.
"We would like to introduce Kulon Progo to foreigner by involving them in education, social activities and kegiatanwisata," said Lia Andarina Grasia, Founder Bule Mengajar Community, in a press release.
"This is done in cooperation with schools, small industries and tourism potential of Kulon Progo introduced by directly visiting the sights in Kulon Progo," he continued.
Lia further revealed that community was formed on October 28, 2014 and this will facilitate the interaction between the foreigner and the community by inviting foreigner to come to the Kulon Progo.
Regarding the beginning of the activity was established and why it is called Bule Mengajar, Lia disclose it begins with a positive response community when he became host family for the activities of an NGO.
Lia also feel a responsibility to introduce Kulon Progo to the foreigner. This makes it invited eight of his friends to form Bule Mengajar Community.
"Why take the name Bule Mengajar? The word "Bule" means foreigner, is a foreign citizen, while the word "teach" means sharing, is the process of sharing knowledge among Caucasians with local communities. Therefore, Bule Teaching has a tagline is "Share your Knowledge", "he explained.
Activities carried out in schools in the narrative Lia them are introduced about the country and culture of each. Then proceed to visit the small industries like sugar industry, natural fiber craft, traditional food processing industry, pottery and so on.

PR Bule Mengajar, Arni Rohmiatun explained at least Bule Mengajar has teamed up with six schools that SMA N 1 Wates, SMA N 2 Wates, SMK CSI Wates, SMA N 1 Compassionate, SMP N 1 Wates, and SMP N 2 Wates.
Until now, there were approximately 18 participants from different countries who have participated in this Bule Mengajar community.
